the store where i get my groceries has a wierd fruit section. a couple of years ago i was looking to make jam for the holidays and i came across Feijoas.

i got online (of course) and discovered that the feijoa is a tropical fruit from new zealand that is being grown as an experimental crop in california. it's a cousin of the passion fruit, and though it has an unappetizing grey mushy interior it is extremely tasty.

i bought all the feijoas in the store and used my frequent shopper card so it got registered and they stocked them for several months afterwards. the people at the distribution center in utah must have wondered why there was such a demand for feijoas in new mexico.

everyone liked the jam, but thought i had made up the ingredients. so i'm here to spread the word about this faboo fruit. the jam itself will never be duplicated, since i made the recipe up and never wrote it down.
