Past Preservers, founded by Nigel J. Hetherington, taps into its extensive network of archaeologists, historians, Egyptologist, engineers, geologists and other specialists to provide historical and archaeological consultancy, and professional support to the media industry. With offices in Cairo and London, and representatives throughout the Middle East, North America and Europe, Past Preservers has a strong hold on the international media scene, completing assignments for the History Channel, National Geographic Channel, Al-Jazeera International, TLC and Living Channel. You can work with them too! To find out more about becoming a Rama author, please write to info@pastpreservers.com.
Past Preservers has partnered with Crimson Bamboo to provide content for their Rama Travel App for History Lovers. This free app offers incredible walking tours of historic areas that use geo-located archival images to offer an augmented reality glimpse into past dramas.
I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of their first launches, and I'm very proud to announce the launch of my contribution, a tour of the Menor's Ferry Historic District in Grand Teton National Park. The Dornan family was kind enough to give me permission to digitize and use our family's recently-discovered photographs, that clearly illustrate the transformation of the small town of Moose, Wyoming. As a child I had trouble envisioning the community that existed here before the creation of the National Park, and now, thanks to technology, I can!
The Rama travel app is free, then if you want to pay 99 cents to take a great tour of a great place, select the Gateway to the Tetons title. Thanks! Let me know what you think!
